As you may have noticed, Smiling Lu represented a GABA tea from Alishan before. Unfortunately, that farm doesn't make that tea anymore. Our team didn't want Smiling Lu to vanish in obscurity, so we searched hard to find a similar tea. It was not an easy decision to change the tea for this Tea Spirit, but we finally found a worthy candidate. This high mountain oolong has a high content of GABA thanks to its unique oxidation process. The combination of the Yushan high mountain richness with sweet notes of dried fruit makes this tea a real treat. 
 
What is GABA tea?
GABA tea is a unique tea that contains an increased amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This tea is processed in a special way where the tea leaves are oxidized in an oxygen-free environment. This allows the leaves to absorb a larger amount of GABA. GABA is an important component responsible for regulating muscle tone, calming nerves, improving sleep, and balancing mood.

GABA tea was developed in Japan in the 1980s and has since spread worldwide. Taiwan is one of the largest producers of GABA tea today, offering a wide variety of varieties and flavors. The cultivation and processing of GABA tea requires special care and expertise to ensure the highest quality and best taste.
